Guide to installing Airmousse
Step by step – How to change the mousse
Step 1 – Remove the tire from the rim
Place the wheel on the tire changer and unscrew the rim lock.
If the wheel is stuck on the rim, you can use the tire changer to push the wheel down and release it from the rim.
Place the tire levers between the rim and the wheel. Remember not to place them too far apart (keep it around 10-15 cm), this will make the shift much easier. Once the tire levers are in place, start pushing down the second lever from the end as it prevents the others from slipping out.
When the first part of detaching the tire from the rim is complete, lift it off the tire changer and place it with the other side up. Then push the tire off the rim with the tire changer all the way around.

Step 2 – Install the new foam in the tire
We recommend using a brush to apply the silicone gel to the inside of the tire. Use half of the tube inside the tire and apply the other half on the mousse. (A tube of 85/100 grams of silicone gel is included when you order a mousse). Use a spray bottle with water mixed with a little soap and spray the edges of the tire. It will help you get the tire back on the rim.
Insert the new mousse into the tire. Using a pair of protective gloves will make it easier.

Step 3 – Mount the tire on the rim
To get the tire back on the rim, place it on the tire changer. Use the tire levers to push the tire on. Use small steps all the way around.
Please note! If you have rotation in the tire, it is important to put the tire on correctly. Read more about our different Airmousses in our FAQ.

Once the tire is back in place, it’s time to get it into position inside the rim by using the tire removers. This can be the trickiest part, but by placing them close together, installation will be much easier. Work your way around half of the tire. Then use a tire lever to fix the tire by placing it between the rim and the tire. It will prevent the tire from sliding back up as you work your way around. Very important to work with small steps and to continuously lock the tire by using the tappets.
Important – Always use a rim lock when using Airmousse!
